Recycling
Refuse Preparation Guide
- Only regulation 30-gallon cans or plastic bags will be picked up. LIMIT OF 6 BAGS OR CANS per household.
- One large item per week.
- Carpeting, brush, scrap-wood etc. should be bundled and tied in reasonable bundles, no longer than 3 foot and each bundle counts toward your 6-count limit.
- Each container must weigh less than 60 pounds.
- All refuse must be within 3 feet of the roadside by 6:00 am but not sooner than 24 hours before scheduled pick-up.
- INCLUDE: Only waste resulting from the handling, storage, or preparation of foods, light bulbs, empty paint cans, (LATEX ONLY) regular household waste, and any non-recyclable items.
- DO NOT INCLUDE: Tires, propane tanks, pesticides, building materials, oil, oil barrels, warm/hot ashes, 55 gallon drums, solvents, flammable materials, paint, pool chemicals, auto batteries or parts, any suspicious waste or waste that is considered hazardous. These items can be disposed of at the hazardous waste facility. Call Niagara County Waste Facility at 434-6568 for instructions.
- Residents generating syringes, hypodermic needles or sharp objects are required to notify Modern Disposal Services Inc.1-800-330-7107.
Please note the town provides pick-up and removal of garbage for one and two families only. All others must make their own arrangements.
