ACH/Direct Withdrawals for Water/Sewer Bill Payments

The Town of Pendleton is now offering ACH/Direct Withdrawals for your Water/Sewer Bill payments!

Enrollment is easy.  Simply complete this AUTHORIZATION FORM and return it to the Town Clerk’s office with a voided check from your checking account or a voided deposit slip for your savings account.

Once all of the paperwork is received, an email will be sent to you confirming your enrollment in ACH/Direct Withdrawal for your quarterly water/sewer bills.  You will receive a paper copy of your quarterly bill with a note stating “DO NOT PAY”.  It will include the amount that will be automatically withdrawn from your account one day prior to the quarterly due date.  (Bills are mailed in January, April, July and October.)

You must complete a separate Authorization Form for EACH property that you want to enroll.

Is ACH/Automatic Direct Withdrawal right for you?  Here are some things to consider:

  • Convenience. With an automatic recurring payment, you won’t have to worry about writing a check, finding a stamp, driving to the Town Hall, or paying online convenience fees.
  • Safety. With an ACH payment, you can see if your payment was received faster than a mailed payment.  Plus, there is no chance of your check getting lost in the mail.
  • Speed. Your payment arrives and is processed more quickly than if you mailed your check.
  • Savings. With automated payments you save because you do not have to purchase so many paper checks, envelopes, and stamps!
  • Reduced errors. With an automatic recurring payment, you don’t run the risk of forgetting to pay, forgetting to sign your check or entering the wrong amount.  Once you are set up, your payment of the current balance due will be automatically deducted from your account and paid on time.

Please contact the Town Clerk’s office at 716-625-8833, Option 3, if you have any questions on this new option for paying your bills!

Important Water Bill Reminder!

IMPORTANT Water Bill Reminder

Just a reminder that there is a message on the July water bill every year stating that there will be a $100.00 administrative fee for any balances not paid by 4:00 p.m. on the third Friday of September. (It was extended one week this year due to the delay in mailing out the July water bills.)

This surcharge is for unpaid balances that are turned over to the Niagara County Tax Department every year on October 1st.  This is not new.  If you pull your past July water bills you will see the same message.  This only happens once a year so you may have forgotten the message being on previous water bills.

Your water bill was due on 08/25/2021 without penalty.

On 08/26/2021 a 10% penalty was assessed (gross total with penalty) and that amount should be paid as soon as possible if you have not yet paid that balance.

If you do not pay by 4:00 on Friday September 24th there will be a $100.00 administrative fee on top of the 10% penalty.

Remember that you can now pay your water bill online at: www.pendletonny.us  with a credit or debit card.  We cannot take credit card payments over the phone.  If you type in the link above, it will bring you to the Town of Pendleton website.  On the Home page look to the left and you will see ONLINE PAYMENT PORTAL. Just click on the link, have your water bill in front of you and follow the prompts.  There is a small convenience fee, just to let you know.

Please remember, NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED after 4:00 on Friday September 24th.

Any lock box payments received after 4:00 on Friday, September 24th will be credited to your October bill.

Please contact the Water Billing Department at 716-625-8833, ext. 111, if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Niagara County Issues Roadwork Update

Niagara County Public Works Commissioner Garret Meal today provided updates on two road construction projects in Niagara County – Bear Ridge Road and Lockport Road.

Meal said that asphalt surface replacement on Bear Ridge between Campbell Boulevard and West Canal Road will begin the week of September 6.  Part of this section, from West Canal to Irish Road, is currently closed except for local traffic, due to a bridge replacement.  The section of Bear Ridge from Irish Road to Campbell Boulevard will remain open to local traffic only during the resurfacing project, though there will be lane restrictions during the milling and paving, controlled by flaggers and portable traffic lights.

“Bear Ridge has been a focal point for us this summer and we are nearing completion,” said Meal.  “The asphalt portion should be done the first week in October and the bridge work by the end of October, so I ask the public to just continue to be patient a little longer.”

Meal also updated on the culvert replacement project under Lockport Road at Cayuga Creek, just east of Walmore Road.  That portion of Lockport Road has been closed to only local traffic since mid-June.

“The project fell about a week behind schedule during our very wet July which is one of things beyond our control in road construction,” said Meal.  “But the contractors worked long hours to make up for lost time and though the project is not yet completed, we expect we will be able to open it up to full traffic within the next week.”
